The two one-day tournaments ran contrary. The five pins competition was an impressive demonstration of the sportive class of the Italian Luca Marzio Garavaglia, who even got the upper hand in the final match against Andreas Efler with 2:0 sets. He won the tournament with the highest possible scoring and thus ensured a successful tournament premiere at his home location, the Billiards Club Desio. The Lombardian grand club near Milan was recently connected to our network as the youngest MWS location.

The top 3 of the five pins tournament:

  1. Garavaglia, Luca Marzio (Desio, IT | € 250 prize money)
  2. Efler, Andreas (Hinterbrühl, AT | € 150 prize money)

The outcome of the three cushion competition, on the other hand, was completely open until the last shot. No player remained unbeaten, and the favorites took valuable points away from each other early on in the round robin mode that was used. Tay-Dien Truong from Erlangen led the field at halftime. At this point, five players still had a chance of winning the big coup. The tension culminated in a final match for the tournament victory between Markus Dömer and Andreas Efler. The results of all title contenders were so close that the losing player in this encounter would only take third place, because Lukas Stamm from Berlin had meanwhile finished the tournament with a strong finish in second place. And how could it be otherwise, in a fast-paced match at eye level with a tie of 3:3 a decisive set had to be played for the title. With strong nerves and experienced willingness to take risks, Markus Dömer was able to win this all-important, final set against Andreas Efler and thus successfully defended his Royal Pro Home Tour title.
