The Royal Pro Home Tour is an international carom billiards tournament series that is played online via the MWS system at various MWS locations worldwide. On October 9th and 10th a three cushion and a five pins team competition of this series took place. Teams from 3 countries competed for € 800 total prize money.

In the three cushion tournament, the Zurich team with Kenan Cantürk and Behzat Cetin triumphed, who won all their matches and always kept their opponents at a clear distance. Second and third place went to the Austrian teams Schurli's Base Camp (Rosenburg-Mold) and Zipfer (Innsbruck). The co-favorite team Schurli's Base Camp with Reinald Bastl and Georg Schmied showed a faultless performance except for their match against the eventual tournament winners from Zurich, in the final they were clearly defeated by the Swiss with 1:4 sets. Third place went to the Innsbruck team, which was able to keep the upper hand wafer-thin against their direct competitor.

The podium of the three cushion tournament:

  1. 1. BC Zurich: Cantürk, Kenan / Cetin, Behzat (Zurich, CH | € 200 prize money)
  2. 2. Schurli's Base Camp: Bastl, Reinald / Schmied, Georg (Rosenburg-Mold, AT | € 125 prize money)
  3. 3. Zipfer: Lee, Soonchun / Riml, Jimmy (Innsbruck, AT | € 75 prize money)

The five pins tournament developed into a thriller, the outcome of which was open to the last point played. Three teams recorded the same number of wins for themselves, so the decision on the placements was made by directly comparing the set ratios of these three teams. The tournament winner was the Polish team Yoshikigoi from Turek, with young star Marius Kroonen and veteran Ernest Driessen. There are generations between the two Yoshikigoi teammates, but they performed and played as a unity. Perhaps it was precisely this dynamic mix of offensive and wisdom that brought the decision in their favor. With a set ratio of 71.43 %, they were just ahead of the teams from Basel (57.14 % / second place) and Innsbruck (55.56 % / third place).

The podium of the five pins tournament:

  1. 1. Yoshikigoi: Driessen, Ernest / Kroonen, Marius (Turek, PL | € 200 prize money)
  2. 2. BC Basel: Antonazzo, Cosimo / Gorgoni, Antonio (Basel, CH | € 125 prize money)
  3. 3. MP Solutions: Parasiliti, Sergio / Riml, Jimmy (Innsbruck, AT | € 75 prize money)

What is new in this sports season is that the Royal Pro Home Tour includes two rewarded discipline overall rankings, which are kept separately for three cushion and five pins. The main tournament winner receives [number of main tournament participants] ranking points, the runner-up receives [number of main tournament participants minus 1] ranking points, the third receives [number of main tournament participants minus 2] ranking points, and so on. If played as doubles, then both team-mates receive the same full ranking points. All participants eliminated in the qualification receive 0.5 ranking points. There are 2 deletion results (with the fewest ranking points) per player. DNP (did not play) counts as deletion result.

On 23/24 October the next two Home Tour competitions will take place, all dates and details can be found on our dashboard.
