Good, better, Garavaglia

These are impressive figures, they are hard to believe and stand for an imposing achievement. With his eleventh title on the Royal Pro Home Tour, "5 Pins Doctor" and MWS coach Luca Marzio Garavaglia once again underlined his supremacy in the five pins discipline. The Italian now holds a total of 11:0 tournament wins and 42:0 match wins on the Tour. So far, Garavaglia is undefeated and no one knows how many wins will follow before the first defeat.

This time the Dutchman Ernst-Jan Driessen - last season's overall five pins winner, in which Garavaglia was only able to take part in a few competitions due to the schedule - could at least annoy him a little. The match for tournament victory between Driessen and Garavaglia was open for a long time and went into a deciding set at 1:1 after the Dutchman clearly won the second run. But it wasn't quite enough for Driessen - winning a set or a whole match against a Garavaglia are two different pairs of shoes. Whenever things get really tricky, these absolute top players can mobilize reserves and step up a gear. And that's exactly how the deciding set proceeded. Driessen found his master in the Italian, who won the final match 2:1 in sets and thus the tournament. MWS mastermind Jimmy Riml became a good third.
