Efler celebrates 16th tournament victory on the Home Tour, Driessen jun. dethrones Garavaglia

Five pins sensation: Gorgoni inflicts first defeat on Garavaglia after 51 straight wins. Cycle #3 starts with Guinness world record holder Çay in the three cushion competition.

Blog entry from 2023-01-14

The Swiss Antonio Gorgoni from BC Basel has now managed the feat of defeating the "5 Pins Doctor" and MWS coach Luca Marzio Garavaglia. The Italian was able to celebrate 51 match wins in a row on the Home Tour before this impressive streak came to an end. With the class of a Garavaglia, it is to be expected that the next winning streak will follow soon. But yet another player won the five pins tournament that ended recently, the Dutchman Ernst-Jan Driessen, the overall winner of last year's Home Tour. Jimmy Riml from Innsbruck came second, Garavaglia took third place.

The three cushion tournament was quieter and ended with a favorite victory, although the tournament victory was also fought over. Home Tour record champion and MWS coach Andreas Efler lost in a direct duel against Tay-Dien Truong from Erlangen, but still won the competition just ahead of Truong due to the better set delta. This was Efler's 16th title on the Tour. Third place went to Georg Schmied.

The Royal Pro Home Tour is an international carom billiards tournament series that is played online via the MWS system at various MWS locations worldwide. With the start of the current 2022/23 sports season, we switched the Home Tour overall ranking to a new system that is very similar to the ELO ratings in chess. The new ELO rating system is a continuous ranking list with no end of term. The ranking leaders are awarded prize money on certain dates (e.g. end of quarter, end of month ...).
